Rainbow Mountains Peru – Referred to as “the mountain of seven colours, or by the local Peruvian inhabitants “Vinicunca“!
These amazing mountains are located in the Ausengate region of the Peruvian Andes. A spectacular range of different colours caused by the sediments & atmosphere. This also due to the close proximity of the ocean and the altitude, which is 7´972 feet (2´430 metres) above sea level.
Getting Your Head In The Clouds!
This trek is deemed challenging even to the experienced hikers and climbers. I was very aware of this when I booked the trip, especially taking my daughter on such a journey.
I also booked the trip privately therefore providing an experienced guide for the day.
I had done my research and knew about the hire of ponies. So, I was sure my daughter was going to complete the hike, and enjoy the trip.
The trek crosses through high-altitude passes and provides breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and glaciers. You will also have the opportunity to see a variety of wildflowers, birds and other wildlife. The trek completes at the foot of Rainbow Mountain.
